Rochester, Vermont: Time is running out for published writers to enter the When Words Count Retreat Write It Now! sweepstakes and win valuable free time to write, undisturbed, at the Vermont-based writer's retreat.
In just three days time, at 11:59 p.m., EST, on Friday, February 8th, When Words Count Retreat will stop accepting entries into its Write It Now! sweepstakes. Two days later, on February 10th, it will award free rooms for three-day, two-night stays to as many as 50 Grand Prize winners. No purchase is necessary to enter, and the stakes, for those in need of quality time in which to write, could not be higher.
The number one thing authors say they need, according to an online survey we sponsored in 2012, is free time in which to work, undistracted, on their manuscripts, says Steve Eisner, the retreats CEO. And thats precisely what we are offering.
Sweepstakes winners can book their stays at the retreat on a first-come, first-served basis, Eisner says. Available dates include most Sunday-Monday or Thursday-Friday nights between February 13th and April 15th. And each grand prize has an average retail value of $286.00. Winners, who pick February start dates, however, will get to keep their rooms for an extra night, bringing the value of their prizes to $ 429.00 each.
Those who win the sweepstakes and come to the retreat, Eisner says, will find themselves in a pampered and inspiring country-elegant environment dedicated to great writers. They will enjoy undisturbed solitude, natural beauty, great food served three times a day, a range of housekeeping and support services and stimulating conversation with other writers, when they desire it.
The retreats remote setting, in a hollow in the heart of the Green Mountains, provides the inspiring scenery, quiet, reflective time and lack of distractions writers seek. Cell phone service to the area is limited (although land lines are available), while free Wi-Fi service provides email and Internet access.
Guests who have come to write or to participate in the retreat's highly customized author workshops often describe the retreat, and their experiences there, in glowing terms, calling it everything from a literary slice of heaven! to the quietest, most peaceful place I have ever been to in my life!
They also have raved about the retreats meal service (not part of the prize offer), a necessity in a setting located more than five miles from the nearest restaurant. Guests purchase a daily meal package for $55 per person that includes a country breakfast, a farm lunch, a four-course gourmet dinner, coffee and tea service and cocktail hour hors doeuvres.) All food is locally sourced, and artfully prepared, by Chef Paul Krcmar. (Additional housekeeping, hospitality and wait service fees apply.)
When Words Count Retreat will announce its Grand Prize winners on Sunday, February 10th through a public posting on its Facebook page and directly to the winners, via phone and email. Anyone 18 years of age or older, who lives in the United States or Canada and has published at least one book, may enter the Write It Now! Sweepstakes by accessing the Sweepstakes Entry Form. (Void where prohibited. Proof of authorship is required.)
Authors interested in learning more about the retreat also may visit the When Words Count Retreat site online.
